IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Town of Huachuca City Failed to Complete Lead Service Line Inventory

All community water systems and non-transient non-community water systems are required to submit an initial inventory to their state or primacy agency by October 16, 2024.  We failed to submit the initial lead service line inventory by the due date.  As our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct this situation.

*Service line inventories are the foundation from which water systems can take proactive steps to address lead service lines. Establishing an inventory of service line materials and identifying the location of lead service lines are key steps in getting them replaced. *

What should I do?

  • If you are concerned about having a lead service line (pipe that connects your home to the water main), consult public water system.   • Although there is no confirmation of having a lead service line, you may wish to speak with a healthcare provider if you have a compromised immune system, have children in your home or are nursing as you may be at an increased risk if a lead service line is found during the initial inventory. What does this mean?

This is not an emergency, as we are in the process of completing the initial lead service line inventory. If it had been, you would have been notified within 24 hours.

You will be notified within 30 days of finishing our inventory if any lines are determined to be lead, galvanized requiring replacement, non-lead or are unknown.

What is being done?

The Utility has successfully inventoried many of the lines serving the community with the exception of 97 lines within the system.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCREASE GARBAGE FEES

The Town Council of Huachuca City will consider increasing its garbage fees at its meeting on August 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at Town Hall located at 500 N. Gonzales Blvd, Huachuca City, Arizona. The increase proposal is as follows:
A fuel cost recovery charge of $.70 per month would be added to the current monthly charges.

This proposed increase is authorized by A.R.S. 49-704; 49-742 and 9-500.35, and Huachuca City Town Code section 8.05.040. Additional information concerning this proposal is also available on the Town’s website: www.huachucacityaz.gov

PUBLIC NOTICE – PROPOSED NEW OR INCREASED TAXES AND FEES

In compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 9-499.15, notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Huachuca City may consider proposed new or increased taxes and/or fees in connection with the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget.
The Town Council will hold public work sessions beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, and a public hearing on July 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at Huachuca City Town Hall, 500 N. Gonzales Blvd., Huachuca City, Arizona 85616, to discuss the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget, including the proposed property tax levy and potential adjustments to user fees and charges.

User fees and service charges support the Water and Wastewater utilities. Potential rate modifications for these services may be discussed as part of the budget development process; however, any changes to water or wastewater rates would require separate consideration and approval by the Mayor and Town Council at a public meeting.

Copies of the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Tentative Budget will be available for public inspection at Huachuca City Hall, 500 N. Gonzales Blvd., Huachuca City, Arizona 85616, after June 30, 2026.

Notice of Intent – Change to TPT Code

TOWN OF HUACHUCA CITY

NOTICE OF INTENT

Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of Huachuca City, Arizona will hold a public hearing to consider approval of proposed changes to the Town’s Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) Code pursuant to A.R.S. Section 9-499.15. The proposed changes will increase the Town’s TPT rate with the exception of the mining and the retail sales: food for home consumption tax classifications. This item will appear on the action portion of the Council agenda to allow an opportunity for public comment.
