Please be advised that there will be a public hearing on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. within the Council Chambers of Town Hall, 500 N. Gonzales Blvd., Huachuca City, Arizona. The purpose of this hearing is to hear the public regarding proposed text amendments to the Town Zoning Code. These new regulations are outlined as follows:
- Adding definitions pertaining to proposed text amendments (Section 18.10.010)
- Revision to the zoning code to raise the maximum coverage of lots for all buildings to 40% for R-1 Residential District (Section 18.35.050E)
- Revision to the zoning code to raise the rear yard fence maximum height to 8’ (Section 18.35.050G)
- New provisions to allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s) in R-1 Residential Districts (Section 18.35.070)
- New provisions to allow Tiny Home Parks in a R-4 Residential District (Section 18.50.010D)
- New provisions to allow for mixed uses in a B/C-General Business/Commercial District (Section 18.75.025)
- Adding provisions that “no accessory building, accessory dwelling unit, accessory use or conditional use can be erected or permitted on any lot or parcel until the principal building or use has been established or erected.” Section 18.100.135)
- Adding design guidelines for Tiny Home Parks (Section 18.100.290)
All persons interested in these proposed text amendments are encouraged to participate in the public hearing by attending the meeting to voice their opinions.
There is also a Citizen Review process that provides the public with the opportunity to discuss and express their views concerning these proposed changes to the Town Zoning Code prior to the scheduled public hearing.
