Huachuca City Welcomes Debra Trate to Council

Huachuca City, AZ – At the February 28, 2019 Regular Council Meeting, Ms. Debra Trate was appointed to the Huachuca City Town Council.

Ms. Trate, who holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management/Accounting from Colorado Technical University, has worked in the accounting field for over 25 years in both the public and private sectors. She is currently employed by a local tax preparer in Sierra Vista.

Ms. Trate is originally from a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She moved to Arizona in 2010 and has resided in Huachuca City with her partner Grant and her grandson, Lucas, since 2017. She has two sons, one who resides in Sierra Vista, and another in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, as well as a granddaughter in who also resides in Pennsylvania. Ms. Trate is looking forward to serving on the Huachuca City Town Council.

Ms. Trate will complete the term vacated by Mr. Harlan Sexton who was elected in 2018 but is unable to serve. Her term will be until the Fall 2020 election.

Tombstone Vigilettes

This is a Spotlight on Speakers presentation. Founded in 1946, Tombstone’s Vigilettes, a re-enactment group, will appear in period dress, a mini-fashion show. Vigilettes will explain how this style of garment represented Tombstone life during the period 1890-1915. Vintage objects will be on display.

This event will be held at the Huachuca City Town Hall.

San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area presentation

Gabrielle LaFargue will present an historical overview of the BLM land designated as the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in Sierra Vista.

The silver boom during the 1890s was significant to the development of this area. Included in a slide presentation will be historical photos as well as photos of the flora and fauna you might see in this important natural habitat.
