Citizens of Huachuca City:
As the monsoon season starts to wind down, we now fight the inevitable battle of cutting the grass and carrying for our properties. If you own the property or are renting the property or are in physical control of the property, it’s your responsibility. You may have noticed that police officers are now issuing written warnings which can turn into a citation for failing to comply with our Town Code:
8.20.030 – (Owner to Maintain Premises)
https://huachucacityaz.gov/town-government/town-code/
Please take a look at your property and decide if it does not meet the Town Code, then FIX IT, please. Remember that, as a property owner and/or tenant, you are responsible for the front and back of your property, to include the half of the alley directly behind your residence. Help be a good neighbor for positive change in our Town.
This is a friendly reminder for all citizens to do their part in caring for our Town. If a reminder by the police department is necessary, you will see us.
Join us in the continued revitalization of the Town of Huachuca City!
Thank you!//signed//Chief James L. Thies

Town News
Sales Tax Increase & Use Tax
Many people are aware of the financial struggles of Huachuca City, and the current efforts by Town Council and Town staff to remedy this situation. Staff, thru Council action, has reduced the Town deficit 65% thru spending cuts, sales, surplus equipment, and proper spending practices since January 2018.
However, even with these positive changes the Town must continue to increase its revenue. Huachuca City has for years, had the lowest sales taxes in Cochise County, and the lowest in the State of Arizona.
After much deliberation, Town Council agreed with with staff’s recommendation and voted on September 13, 2018 to increase the sales tax to 1.9%, effective December 1, 2018.
These increases equate to 1.9 cents on the dollar purchased, vs the old rate of 1.5 cents on the dollar purchased.
In addition, the Town established a Use Tax on Purchasing and Inventory at 1.9% which will go into effect on December 1, 2018.
Huachuca City will continue to have the lowest sales tax rate in Cochise County.
If you have questions regarding the upcoming tax increases, please contact the Town Manager. You can also find a summary of what Tax categories are changing on our website at https://huachucacityaz.gov/
