The Huachuca City Public Library has been awarded a $32,500 Library Services and Technology Act grant to launch a Digital Literacy Center to increase important digital literacy skills through a series of workshops, drop-in sessions, and ongoing on-line support. Grant money will be used for curriculum development and the acquisition of necessary computer equipment and software. The program will be designed to serve the needs of the community. To that end, the community will be surveyed to determine which topics are of most interest. Topics may include: email, social media, word processing, google docs, digital photo editing, making a web page, searching for a job and more! Participants will have learning opportunities on desktop and laptop computers as well as mobile devices like cell phones and tablets. The program will begin in Fall 2018.
