Re: Structure Fires on Second and Third Streets, Huachuca City
Huachuca City Dispatch received multiple calls beginning at 4:48pm regarding a house fire at 112 Second Street. The Huachuca City Fire Department was dispatched at 4:50pm and arrived on scene by 4:55pm. Due to high winds, three other structures quickly became involved. The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation.
One structure was a total loss, the three remaining structures suffered varying degrees of damage.
The remains of one person and two dogs were recovered from one of the structures. No positive identification has been made at this time. Identification is pending examination by the Pima County Medical Examiner.
Units from the Huachuca City Fire Department, Whetstone Fire Department, Fort Huachuca Fire Department and Sierra Vista Fire Department responded, along with Fire Investigators from Cochise County and Fry Fire Department. They were supported by the Huachuca City Police Department, the Tombstone Marchall’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety and Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
There is no further information at this time. Information will be forthcoming.
