Senior Center Work Session

At the Senior Center Work Session on May 23, Suzanne Harvey, Library Director, presented a proposal for re-opening the Town Senior Center to provide community/library programs for seniors as well to operate a food bank at the facility. Council approved the proposal. Currently there are necessary repairs being made to the building but we hope to have it open later this summer. Huachuca City Welcomes Debra Trate to Council

Huachuca City, AZ – At the February 28, 2019 Regular Council Meeting, Ms. Debra Trate was appointed to the Huachuca City Town Council.

Ms. Trate, who holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management/Accounting from Colorado Technical University, has worked in the accounting field for over 25 years in both the public and private sectors. She is currently employed by a local tax preparer in Sierra Vista.

Ms. Trate is originally from a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She moved to Arizona in 2010 and has resided in Huachuca City with her partner Grant and her grandson, Lucas, since 2017. She has two sons, one who resides in Sierra Vista, and another in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, as well as a granddaughter in who also resides in Pennsylvania. Ms. Trate is looking forward to serving on the Huachuca City Town Council.

Ms. Trate will complete the term vacated by Mr. Harlan Sexton who was elected in 2018 but is unable to serve. Her term will be until the Fall 2020 election.

Police Department Update – Phone Procedures

With the transition of our dispatch operations to the Southeastern Arizona Communications Center (SEACOM), the Huachuca City Police Department (HCPD) would like to inform citizens with emergencies to DIAL 911. This option will connect you to Dispatch. If you come to the Huachuca City Police Department after hours, pick up the RED PHONE in the lobby and Dispatch will answer.

POLICE AND FIRE REMAIN ON-DUTY 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.

If Response by Police, Fire or EMS

NON-EMERGENCY

Our General Administration line (520-456-1353) will still be available but should NOT BE USED in an emergency situation.

When you dial 456-1353 you will need to listen and follow the instructions provided. You will be given the option to speak with a dispatcher in order to report a non-emergency incident, or to speak with, or leave a message for, an administrator or records clerk. HCPD Administration and Records will be available in the Huachuca City Police Department to assist you Monday thru Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
