03/19/2020 08:07 PM 2020-01 Thursday, March 19, 2020 Mayor Johann Wallace issued proclamation 2020-01 declaring that a state of local emergency exists. With that proclamation, he directed the closure of Town Hall, the Library, Senior Center and the Community Center. He also directed all town-scheduled activities creating a gathering of people of the town shall be cancelled and all rental of town-facilities to private parties be cancelled with fees refunded.
03/20/2020 06:44 PM 2020-02 Friday, March 20, 2020 Mayor Johann Wallace issued a second proclamation based on the news of the first confirmed cased of COVID-19 in Cochise County. This second proclamation directed the implementation of Governor Doug Ducey's executive order 2020-09 which limits the operation of certain businesses, directed the suspension of late fees for utility and landfill accounts, directed public works to immediately suspend all service disconnects and directed the Chief of Police to develop, publicize and implement additional protection measures to care for the public and officers.
Town Services
Town Hall At this time, Town Hall is closed to the public. Town Hall will still be staffed M-F from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and employees will be answering and conducting business over the phone, only. The number to the administration offices is (520) 456-1354.
Library At this time, the Library is closed to the public. Staff will continue to provide curb-side books and DVDs for checkout. Staff will be available to answer calls Tues - Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. They can be reached at (520) 456-1063. The Library's wireless remains available 24/7 and can be accessed from the parking lot.
Senior Center The Senior Center is closed until further notice. Seniors needing information can contact the Library Tues - Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at (520) 456-1063.
Community Center The community center is closed and no private events will take place at this time. If you had a reservation, and you paid a deposit please contact Town Hall during business hours for a refund.
Parks All parks are still open however, please adhere to the CDC's guidelines for social distancing and limiting group size.
Landfill The Town Landfill is still open and operating its normal hours.
Trash Service Trash Pickup from Waste Management will continue its normal operations and pick-up schedules.
Public Works Our public works department is still active and monitoring the wells to ensure residents receive fresh water to their homes. Be advised that extra precautionary measures will be implemented when responding to calls for service
Courts Court payments can be made by phone at 520-456-1080 or at azcourtpay.com. Requests for continuance to attend Defensive Driving class may be done by phone at the same number or by emailing the clerk at msaenz@courts.az.gov
